2015 has been an exciting year so far. There is a lot on my plate in terms of writing and I thought it would be a good place to start by talking a bit about what I am currently working on and what my writing goals for 2015 are.
First, I am working on connecting to the on-line writing community. I am taking a much more active role on my blog on my humour/topical blog Reading Over People's Shoulders . As I make changes to my life this year I am hoping that I will have more and more time to write about those things that I find amusing.
I am also working on getting my first graphic novel- Split (working title) off the ground. I have had a surprising amount of interest in the project. I am in the process of wooing some local artists and finding out who meshes the best with the project and myself. I am hoping to have an artist locked in by March, final draft of the first two chapters completed, and the graphic novel in production by the summer. I would love to see it online by August 2015.
In addition to all this I am working (slowly) on editing my NaNoWriMo 2014 novel Concentrate (working title). I have a love-hate relationship with this piece and I am working hard to brainstorm new ways to make it exciting. I am hoping that I will be done edits on this by April and get it off to a professional editor by the summer. It is my hope to independently publish it by the fall of 2015.
I am starting a Freelancing business. I have most of the groundwork laid out for this and I will be starting to take on projects in March, if not before. I am excited to be adding this to my skill set and look forward to working on a variety of projects in the coming months.
I have so many other projects that are currently on the back burner including:
Defection- Sci/Fi- Fantasy novel (80% first draft completed)
The Dragon Key - Fantasy series novel (20% first draft completed)
42 Days (Working title)- Sci/Fi novel; 2013 NaNoWriMo Manuscript (first revisions)
You can keep tabs on what I am doing on my Books page.
In addition to writing I am also looking at setting up a podcast series with a friend/actress, a lively youtube series with my film/photography friend, and much more. By 2017 I would like working on my craft and art to be my primary focus (and hopefully income).
How are your projects coming? Do you have any big plans for 2015?
